Art Attack (Dec. 1/10)

I have a special treat for you today, I want to introduce you to Nathan Sawaya, he is a New York based artist unlike any other that I have seen. Some artists use paint as there medium and some use pencil, Nathan uses Lego building blocks, yes like you get from Toys R Us! It is truly amazing work that is being seen across North American museums right now in a show called 'The Art Of The Brick,' It's the only exhibition focusing sololy on lego as an art medium. The creations consitst of nearly one million pieces.

10 Ways To Release The Creativity From Within...

Visit Art Galleries or Exhibitions as often as possible.
Try thinking about daily things in rhymes, it will help broaden your vocabulary which is especially usefull for creative writing.
Change your routine, i.e. drive a different route to work, go some where else for lunch.
Open your eyes and actually look at everything around you, you'll be surprised what you see.
Every once in a while try to do something that you enjoyed doing as a child, try to release the child from within, children are after all the most creative beings out there.
Clear your mind at least once a day, if you don't have a clear mind you won't have room for creativity.
Make sure you ask yourself an out of the ordinary question each and every day. i.e. What if the grass grew purple?
Try picturing your life as it if it were a movie or novel, what would happen next? Who would you meet?
Talk to someone or some people that you normally would ignore, they might have something interesting to say.
Carry a pocket sketch book with you always and note interesting things.

And the farmer knew this to be true 'cause the pig shit buttermilk as he flew.
