Sentimentally Deranged

I just finished a new series titled Sentimentally Deranged consisting of 3 paintings.  All 3 are done on a 4" x 4" x 1.5" wood artists block with acrylics.  I also wrote poems for each one that tie the entire series together, I think, quite well.  Each of them are now available in my Etsy Shop for the very reasonable price of only $30 each for these original pieces.  So in order from 1 - 3 here they are...

Sentimentally Deranged - BLACK STAR

Darkness falls and shadows fade

your words pierce through me 

like the sharpest blade

the stars turn black as the light goes out

there is no more reason

to scream and shout

In my pain I call out for you

as the darkness surrounds me

I know that you feel it too

 

Sentimentally Deranged - BAT GIRL

They all think they know her so well

they dont know that 

behind her mask she secretly dwells

hiding all her pain and tears

its not a life 

to have to live in constant fear

but in her mask she feels strong

gives her the power

to feel like she can go on

that and the creatures of the night

they make her feel 

like she can win any fight

so forever in disguise she'll stay

forever being the Bat Girl

to this very day!

 Sentimentally Deranged - PINKY

She plays the princess with her pink hair

the perfect life, no reason to care

but they don't know the pain she hides

all the heart ache she feels deep inside

the hurt and tears they all get locked away

the keys been thrown out so forever buried they'll stay

she'll put on a smile just as she's been shown

forever the "perfect" princess, sad and alone

New Paintings

I have 3 new paintings to share with you today and a couple of more on the way as soon as I get them photographed as well.   As some may have already noticed I have started writing poems to go with each of my new paintings just as I have always done with my art dolls and I am totally addicted to it! lol  It just happens without even thinking about it now, as I am painting the picture I am writing the poem in my head at the same time, I dont think I could stop even if I tried lol So for each of my originals that have a poem assocciated with it I will be including the poem either written on the back where possible or if it isn't possible then it will be included printed on a separate card.  All three of these originals are now available in my Etsy Shop and just the first 2 are available there in print form as well.   These are the new paintings and their poems....

My Pet Monster

some people gawk and stare

when you moan "hi" to them

it gives them quite the scare

I don't mind when you drool

and your eyes rolls in your head

your still totally cool 

and always welcome in my bed

and when your limbs and tail

fall off and need repair

I can stitch them on again

I will always be right there

ACEO Swap

For the new year I have taken part in an ACEO Swap going on within the ACETSY Team and I just finished mine last night!  For anyone unsure of what an ACEO is...

ACEO = Art Cards Editions & Originals

must be 2.5" x 3.5" in size and can be any medium

very collectible and quite often traded 

when trading they are often referred to as ATC

ATC = Artists Trading Cards

 For this swap they must be new originals done for the swap so my partner and I decided on a theme that was "Dark, Raven, Crow, Gothic" and so this is what I came up with...

This ACEO is titled "Cheer" and is mixed media done on a piece of linen canvas paper.  I used an old page out of a book, modge podge, gesso, Rooibos Tea to stain and acrylic paint and ink for the picture.  It is signed, titled and dated on the back and comes with a certificate of authenticity which is also pictured with it.  As well I wrote a little poem to go with it and it is also written on the back of the artwork.   This is the poem...

He stands and waits

he watches the clock

time ticks by

tick tock tick tock

here it is

a brand new year

he celebrates

the loudest cheer!

The Itsy Bitsy Spider...

and the big ol' spider....

As many have already seen on FB I wanted to share my spider art dolls that I just finished for a custom order for a lady that collects real pet spiders and is truly the "spider" lady!!!! She just came and picked them up this morning and was absolutely in love with them so I guess mission accomplished!  

I had never done a spider art doll before when she asked me to do it but everything turned out even better then I could have imagined and I am now looking forward to finding some time to make some more for my Etsy Shop!  In the meantime if you wish to order your own in your own choice of colors I have put a couple of "made to order" listings in my shop for you to place an order if you so wish.  Of course my art dolls are always one of a kind so I can not recreate these exact spiders but I can do something similar.

First we have Scooter the Spider who is apprx 6" in diameter with a leg span of apprx. 15".  He comes with a little story on a card...

"Im a little spider watch me spin

I go by the name of Scooter

and I just might let you in!

I have 8 legs that are hairy,

but you'll soon see that 

I'm not that scary!

We can hang out in my web

it will be just fine,

only if you promise to 

be a friend of mine!"

 Next we have Ursula who is apprx. 14" from front to back and apprx. 8" tall with a leg span of apprx. 20" wide.  She also has a little story that goes...

"Ursula the spider hatched from an egg,

She's extra creepy with her 8 hairy legs!

In her giant web watch her spin,

as the flies come falling in.

Ursula will quickly grab them tight

and gobble them all up in one BIG bite!!!"
