Hat & Doll for Young Girl with Cancer

I was recently told about a young girl only 4 years of age sick with cancer and about to start treatments that will cause her hair to fall out. I know all too well what she is going through having gone through the very same thing at the very same age as her. I wanted to do something for her and after finding out that she loves rainbows and her favorite color is pink (a girl after my own heart lol) made it even easier for me to put something together! In these pics are the Art Doll I made for her with a matching floppy sun hat so she can feel pretty on her head all of the time no matter what happens! I named the doll Bright Eyes and he acutally stands 38 inches tall!!! I am getting ready to ship everything out to her tomorrow. I really hope she likes it!

Fight Cancer With Pizza, Beer & ART

As many may already know, my art is now on display at downtown Windsor's Terra Cotta Restaurant until February. The restaurant has also made a very generous offer to put a special on this Thursday January 13 2010 to help raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society in my name. So please come out and join us this Thursday for pizza, beer and of course Oddball Art!

I also want to mention the reason this is so warm to my heart is because I am a cancer survivor myself and was given only a 10% chance of living 26 years ago when I was diagnosed with a very rare type of life threatening cancer, but as you can see am still kicken' around today! I am pleased to be able to take this opportunity to give a little back! :)

10 Ways To Release The Creativity From Within...

Visit Art Galleries or Exhibitions as often as possible.
Try thinking about daily things in rhymes, it will help broaden your vocabulary which is especially usefull for creative writing.
Change your routine, i.e. drive a different route to work, go some where else for lunch.
Open your eyes and actually look at everything around you, you'll be surprised what you see.
Every once in a while try to do something that you enjoyed doing as a child, try to release the child from within, children are after all the most creative beings out there.
Clear your mind at least once a day, if you don't have a clear mind you won't have room for creativity.
Make sure you ask yourself an out of the ordinary question each and every day. i.e. What if the grass grew purple?
Try picturing your life as it if it were a movie or novel, what would happen next? Who would you meet?
Talk to someone or some people that you normally would ignore, they might have something interesting to say.
Carry a pocket sketch book with you always and note interesting things.
